Lincoln Elementary is one of twelve elementary buildings in the city of Janesville, Wisconsin. The school is made up of approximately 350 students in Early Childhood through 5th grade. Of these 350 students 72% are White, 18% Hispanic, 7% Black, 2% Asian, and 1% Native American. Our Socioeconomic status (SES) is 65%. Our students with disabilities (14%), include a special education early childhood program (EC), learning disabilities (LD), emotional/behavioral disabilities (EBD), cognitive disabilities (CD) and pupils who receive speech and language (SL) services. Lincoln has experienced a shift in the demographics of the families and students that attend our school. Lincoln has gone from 48.2% of students from a low socioeconomic status in 2007 to 64.4% in 2014. We have been able to continue the strong academic history that Lincoln has seen and even increase student achievement despite the change in demographics, by providing our children with an academic challenging and safe learning environment for them to thrive and grow.
